My working language pair is English -> Vietnamese and there are cases I need to modify the source language so that I can make use of previous translations memories. Specifically, I often need to change from US English to UK English and vice versa.
We can implement a number of methods to do this and they depends on what types of translation memorys we are working with. For SDL Trados Studio TMs I have created a small tool called TMInfo which is very simple and easy to use.
1. Locate your TM
2. Select source language
3. Select target language
4. Verify your selection
5. Click on update button
I am going to implement a number of other features. Please let me know if you have identify any bugs or problems when using this tool.
Happy translating!
